Trent does a great job of coming home from a hard day of work or rotations and then making some time to play with Tanner. Usually his schedule is really busy so he only gets a short amount of time per day to play with him.
However, a few Sunday's ago Trent and I sang a duet at Primary Children's Medical Center. Our stake covers the ward there and this week our home ward was in charge of things for their meeting. The block was shorter so Trent had more time then usual after church and he played a lot with Tanner. He pretty much spend the whole day doing things with him. It was fun to see them bond and enjoy one another. When Tanner woke up from his nap I tried to sit down in the rocker and cuddle him a bit. Tanner told me, "No, I want Dad!"
I laughed pretty hard. I thought, "I spend all day everyday taking care of you and meeting your needs. Dad plays with you for a day and suddenly you're best friends?" Hahaha, it really hit home that boys need their fathers. Dad's are great at playing and boys need that time with them. I believe every child deserves a mother and a father.
They built an awesome tower!
After the tower Trent started drumming out. Tanner loved it.
| Trent's face in this one is priceless. So is Tanner's he is having a ball! |
