December Fun!

It feels like December is always so busy! We have been having a good time though. Here's a few pictures from our latest and greatest :)

It was awesome to get some snow. I love having a home and a yard, it's so nice to let tanner go out and watch him from the window. I try to go out often with him when he goes out, but not this time. We and just woken up and Tanner insisted on going out to play in the snow right away. He was so happy to finally have snow to play with!

Here's a picture trying to show the amount of snow that fell....it was a good amount!

Tanner being silly and laying on all of the pillows.

We also went with a few new ladies from our ward to a play date at Discovery Gateway Museum. Tanner enjoyed the small piano. He's starting to take a good amount of interest in playing. I'm debating if I should start teaching him.

I was able to attend the Share Parents of Utah support group meeting this month. It's a group to support parents who have lost children due to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or newborn death. It was great to talk about ideas of how to go through the Holidays after a loss. While we talked we made some hats to donate to the hospitals for parents who will experience the loss of a child. One for the child and one for a shadow to be left with the parents. These hats will be added to kits with blankets and other things for baby. I know having a few shadow things from our boys losses has really helped me. It was nice to be able to give back a little.

I noticed that all of Tanner's nativity animals were lined up next to my choir music...haha. I thought it was darling! One, that Tanner understands how we read music. And two, that he had his animals singing.

Trent's childhood friend, James Lewis, and his family were able to visit us while they were in Utah for Christmas visiting family. We had a wonderful visit with them. Dinner at our place and then to see the lights. It was great! Of course I always forget to get a picture with Trent and James...or one of their family for that matter :/ Thankfully got a few of our family at Temple Square though.

Tanner did NOT want to smile at the camera! Some sweet lady, whom I didn't know, came up behind me and tried to get him to smile. He finally turned around and sort of cooperated. I thought it was a really sweet of her to do that for a complete stranger. I love the Temples of the Lord!

I love that my coat barely zipped up with my big 8 month pregnant belly. I'm glad I was able to stay warm!

I had to include a picture of the Naan I made a few days ago. It was my first attempt at Nann...and it turned out so yummy! I've been trying some new recipes lately as I've been preparing for baby boy to come. My goal is to have at least 30 freezer meals made before his delivery. This Red Curry Lentils over Naan was a winner! I'm excited I have two meals of it in the freezer waiting to be eaten.

Trent was in charge of our lesson for Family Home Evening this last Monday. He decided to have us act out the Nativity with Tanner's Fisher Price Nativity set. Tanner is really into pretend play with his toys so he thought it was great to act out the Nativity with mom and dad.

We walked the people around and talked as if we were them. Coolest thing ever...apparently...haha! Tanner asked if we could do it again after we finished. We figured, why not? Hopefully repetition will help the story of Christ birth stick...so we acted it out again. He then requested to do it a THIRD time...haha. At this point I convinced him we should really finish up Family Home Evening and sing our closing song so we could eat a fun FHE treat. It was getting late and I was tired, but I did think it was really cute that he loved it so much he wanted to act out the Nativity a third time.

Decorating for Christmas...Hooray!

I love decorating for Christmas together as a family! We took a few pictures to remember the fun.

Tanner helping Dad with the star.

Decorating the tree...yay!

Tanner decorated his own little spot. I had to keep myself back from trying to space out the ornaments he put on...haha...mom is a little OCD. Love this little guy!

Thanksgiving Week of Fun!

Jared and Heather's family were able to visit us this Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun to spend time with them! Here are a few of the fun things we did while they were here.

The cousins had a sleepover night. While the dads played games, the mamas entertained the kiddos. There was a lot of good craziness going on. We of course used this time to make gingerbread houses...believe me with a crowd this big of young kids it took all of us to make frosting, assemble, and help kids decorate their houses.

 Tanner's house

Tanner eating the candy off of his house...that's the best part right?

We were able to visit Jungle Gyms, which was a big hit with the kids. They all really liked the fast roller-coaster.

One night we even had a "Special Visitor." The kids were all able to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

Tanner couldn't decide what he wanted, though he had previously told mom and dad that he wanted Lego's. I was waiting patiently to see if he would say Lego's again to Santa. During his long pause though, his aunt Trina suggested that he wanted a pony. Tanner happily went along with that idea. Now mom and dad have to convince Tanner that maybe Santa wont be bringing him a pony. Thanks Trina ;) I love the look of seriousness on Tanner's face. "What do I really want for Christmas?"

It was so fun to see all of the little boys get excited as they watched Santa and waited their turn to sit on his lap.

Thanks for coming Santa and Ms. Clause!

We were also able to make it to the aquarium. Fun times! Here's us trying to get a picture of all of the grand-kids....haha...yeah, good luck!
