"Daddy go walk"

Tanner loves his daddy! I will often go for an hour walk in the morning while I push Tanner in his stroller. The other day as I was cuddling Tanner in our rocking chair after he had just gotten up. He said he wanted to go on a walk, like we usually do every morning. I told him we could go on a walk in just a little bit. Trent was getting ready for work in the background and Tanner said to me, "Daddy go walk." I called out to Trent telling him that Tanner wanted him to join us on our walk this morning. Trent came the his room and said sadly, "Daddy has to go to work." To which Tanner replied, "I go work."

Yep! That pretty much sums it up. Tanner wanted to be with Dad, and if Dad wasn't going to join us on our walk, Tanner was going to join him at work. Hahaha ;)  Tanner loves Dad! I do too! Even with Trent's full load of rotations and work, he is making an effort to spend time with us. Such a great husband and dad!

Here are some pictures of Tanner I took on our walk that day. He is wearing his fun snoopy shirt our friends from China brought him. They went back home this summer and when they came back to the US they brought us some gifts. So sweet if them. Thanks David and Cassie! Tanner loves his shirt :)

I told Tanner I was taking a picture and he started making all of these cheesy faces at me. What a goof!

Tanner's Temple Trip

Hahaha, I like the title "Tanner's Temple Trip" with all of its T's! Tanner was finally able to go to the Temple! I had originally planned to visit the Ogden Temple Open House with my non-member friends, but last minute they ended up canceling. Thankfully Erin and Katie Adams were able to join us. We loved seeing them and it was great to get to visit!

It was wonderful to take Tanner to the Temple after we had been talking about it for the whole week. He was a little sick with a cough and runny nose, so he wasn't quite himself. He fell asleep on the ride there and as I stopped the car he woke up crying. I thought..."Oh, no...he's going to be grumpy during this." I don't think he felt too great because of his cold, but all in all he really did a great job as we went through the temple (Even with it taking about an hour to get into the tour). I was delightfully surprised at how busy it was. We were also lucky enough to get in line behind our stake president. It was fun to visit a little bit with him as we went through in the same group.

His face is priceless in this photo. It's tough feeling sick. I'm glad he was happy through most of the tour.

I was in such a hurry to get to Erin's home in the morning to visit before the temple open house that I forgot Tanner's Sunday clothes. They were so kind as to find some of Mayson's old Sunday clothes that didn't fit any more and gift them to us. Thanks Erin!

Tanner getting excited as I talked to him about going to the temple.

Then Tanner wiping the snot from his nose. Gotta love colds!

The line outside the tabernacle before the tour. This line was about doubled by the time we had finished our tour. So many people have gone to this Temple's Open House.

After the two hours standing, walking, and holding Tanner I was excited to get outside for some fresh air with a breeze. I totally spaced getting a good picture of the temple! This is the spire of the temple behind the temple visitor center. We were by are car by the time I remembered I hadn't gotten a picture of the temple.

Airplanes

Here are my sweet boys! Flying like planes ;)

"I go Temple!"

We love Tanner! He is such an amazing little boy. I'm so grateful he is part of our family. I just had to share this story. The other day Trent and I were getting ready to go on a date to the temple. I came out in my Sunday dress and this is what transpired between Tanner and myself.

Tanner: Go Church.
Me: No, but you're a very smart boy (thinking he had made the connection that when we wear Sunday clothes we go to church) Mommy is going to the temple.
Tanner: I go temple!

He then proceeded to try to take off his regular clothes so he could get dressed in his Sunday clothes and "go to the temple" with us. I had to help him get his pants back on and explain that he would not be going to the temple with us, only mommy and daddy would be going. He was going to go see aunt Trina and his cousins. He thought that was a fair deal so he cooperated - He LOVES hanging out with his cousins ;)

It just touched my heart that Tanner was so adamant to go to the temple. The Temple means so much to me. I have talked with Tanner about the temple and how it is a special place. We often will point out to Tanner the pictures of the temples we have around our home. I've even taken him to the Provo temple just to walk around the grounds as I talked to him about the importance of the temples. It was neat to see him WANT to go to the temple with mom and dad before we left for our date that night!

As a side note: today I was getting ready to put Tanner down for his nap. He didn't want to go down and was about to throw a tantrum. As I picked him up to take him to his crib for a nap and he yells out (as if this is going to stop me from putting him down for a nap), "I wanna go temple!" Hahaha. I got a good laugh out of that.

Thankfully we are going to the Ogden Temple Open House this next week with some of our non-member friends. Tanner will get to "go to the temple." Yay! Love our little boy!

I took these pictures the night Trent and I went on our date to the temple.

Heber Senic Train Ride

I told Trent he hadn't planned any of our weekly dates lately. He found this groupon for a fun train ride. It was a very enjoyable date! The drive to Heber was pretty and train ride was fun. They had a robbery and live entertainment on the train. We enjoyed a sack lunch which we had brought with us and they even stopped at Vivian Park. Trent and I went on a very short walk during that park break, so fun! It was short since we had to get back to the train. We didn't want to get left behind...lol. Then afterwards the train ride we stopped at the Dairy Queen in Heber, this isn't the Dairy Queen chain restaurant. It's totally different. Great shakes and fries. It was GREAT!

Zoo---take two...or is that three?

Trina is so great! She is always getting out with her kiddos. Tanner and I really enjoy tagging along at the zoo on her zoo pass. Thanks for letting us come!

Tanner was about 2 inches away from the lion! Only two inches of glass there to protect him. I thought it was pretty neat to get this picture with him so close to the lion. They were sharing the same rock ;)
