What is Tanner up to now?

Tanner is great at getting into things when I'm not looking. I love finding him in the funniest situations. This is when he managed to get the bowl of pears off of the dishwasher and started eating away at a juicy pear. I didn't even get mad at him for not asking first...maybe I should have...but he was just too cute with his face smashed into that huge pear.

I think he knows what he was doing...lol...look at those guilty eyes.

Then while we were at the shoe store having me try on some boots Tanner ran off. When we found him he had taken off his shoes and was measuring his feet. Love him!

And YES...this is him picking his nose...hahaha...we are working on teaching him not to do that.

Christ Centered Christmas

I love time together as a family! We decided to decorate early for Christmas this year. It was pretty exciting. We had a family home evening where we talked about how we wanted to have a "Christ Centered Christmas" this year and what we could do to accomplish that. Then we listened to Christmas music and put up or Christmas decorations. We totally started later then we had intended and....lets just say...we might have let Tanner stay up till 10pm helping us...lol. He loved decorating the tree. We finally put Tanner to bed and decided to do the rest of the lights in the morning.

When I came home from the store ( just before we started FHE) Trent surprised me with homemade chocolate, chocolate chip cookies.  Haha...well sort of...he ran out of butter while he was making them so when I came home he was in the middle of making them. He had text me when I was at the store saying I needed to get some butter. When I came home and realized why he had wanted butter, well it was just cute. He told me that he had imagined me coming home to a clean kitchen with the cookies on a plate. Guess it didn't turn out quite how he had hoped, but it was still great. We loved eating them while we decorated. The cookies were so yummy!

Tanner has still been LOVING the lessons on the white board so we have been drawing them for about a month now for our FHE lessons :) This is Mary, Joseph, and Jesus with a sheep.

Tanner helped us get out the decorations. While he was of course enjoying a tasty cookie.

He also helped open up our fun Fisher-Price Nativity.

Here's the tree from the beginning to end!

Tanner putting his ordainment on the Tree. We gave this one to him for his first Christmas. He was only around 3 months old then. It is nice to see him starting to appreciate it...lol. It's Cookie monster...of course.

Oh, YAY for Christmas books! Time to get them out again :)

Then the next morning while Tanner (sort of) ran around the house like a wild man making a mess of his toys....while he was pretty much naked...only wearing his underwear...lol...Trent and I might have gotten a little carried away with decorating the window. It all started because we wanted Tanner to enjoy a snowman. Then once we realized we could make a snowman we started trying to make all sorts of fun things.

Here's some of the other fun stuff we did.

Seminar Sucess!!!

I am so proud of Trent! He as put in so many hours and worked so hard in pharmacy school. It has not been easy and he rarely (if hardly...ever) complains! He is amazing!

Trent finished giving his second seminar yesterday. I was able to line up a sitter so I could be there to listen to his presentation. He did great :) We can hardly believe his second seminar is complete! Way to go Trent...you are the love of my life ;)

Now all he has to do is complete his rotations and do any projects his preceptors decide to assign him. Until he graduates in may. We are hopeful that we will mean we will have more time together as a family now. Which is very exciting news!

To celebrate his victory we got pizza from Papa Murphy's and had an in-home date night. We had already used one sitter for the day so we decided to keep it at home. Just put Tanner to bed and had a fun date spending time together at home. It was wonderful!

Family Home Evening Twist

Usually for Family Home Evening we will go off of a lesson from the nursery manual. The other night though Trent thought it would be fun to draw the lesson on Tanner's small white board. Tanner thought it was the coolest thing ever! He keeps talking about boats now...hahaha. Since dad included "sharing a boat" as one of objectives of the lesson.

We talked about having a "happy family." That "sharing toys," "saying kind words like please and thank you," "praying," and "building a snowman" can help us be a happy family. AND...no the person is not worshiping the snowman...lol...it just looks like he is. AND...yes, we included a snowman to suffice Tanner's need to build a snowman. We are still waiting for the first decent snowfall so we can actually build one and make his dreams come true.

Lets Go Fly a Kite...

Trent loves to fly kites. He has a new rotation and his schedule is a bit more flexible now. It was nice to have him come home earlier and go do something with him. He suggested flying a kite. It was a bit chilly...hahaha. Kites are better in Spring, but it was still a fun Fall activity.

Then Trent, of course decided to fly it from the playground.

It's hard to see, but Tanner is flying a kite in these next few pictures.
