I ran for Mayor in the U of U Married Student Housing's "Resident Council Elections." It was a lot of fun and a ton of work! Megan Lee, a friend of mine, ran for Programs so we decided to do our campaign together. I was so grateful for her insight and help. These are some of our posters.
We also passed out two handbills that each had coupons on back. We were able to get the companies to do the printing for us because their coupons on back. It also helped us show the residents that we knew how to work with people in the community, and that if we were elected we would continue to do so. It was great!
Coupons on the back of our flyers, free donated bagels and doughnuts at our table, and we even had a raffle with prizes donated from local businesses in the area. Our goal was to use the raffle to help get the residents out to vote, plus emphasize again that we could work well with the community. What a crazy busy few weeks of campaigning! Good Memories! Both my friend and I won the election. Yay! I will be the Mayor of the village for the next year. I'm grateful it will help us with a rent reduction during that time. What a blessing! We had a ton of support from ward members and friends. We won by a major landslide.
These are some deer that were just outside my apartment on election day. After going to the polls for the first voting time, I came back to see these amazing creatures. It felt like a good omen, and helped calm me down for the big voting day that was ahead.
Here is one of our tables outside the voting poles. This was the morning at one of the lower attended voting areas. They had three areas and we tried to have them all manned with a table and representative. Our husbands were amazing to help us out with this! They helped to man each one of the three voting times. I'm so grateful for Trent and all of the help he gave during elections! Oh just a little side note, we probably gave out around 500-600 bagels. It was insane!

Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day was wonderful! When I came home from a morning walk with my friend. Tanner, who was already up with dad, ran over to me to give me this Valentine. It was very sweet ;) I think Dad must have helped. I love it when Trent writes me poems. Tanner's artwork is pretty good too!
Tanner enjoyed some stickers from Grandma Adams and some Valentine candy from Grandma Parkinson. Thanks!
Than my awesome sister Trina watched Tanner for us in the evening. Trent planned a very sweet date. We walked through the park where our engagement pictures were taken. It was raining off and on, but Trent had borrowed a huge umbrella from his friend so we enjoyed it all the same. Then we went to Smiths and each bought the other a unique valentine. I gave Trent the Lucky Charms and text him. "I'm so lucky to have you Valentine! Your charm increases daily, as does my love for you. Thanks for making each moment a treat :)" Trent Gave me the pickles and text me, "I just wanted you to know that you're the only cutecumber that I would ever eat. And that you are like a cucumber. You only get better with age." Hahaha, he hates cucumbers and I love pickles. It was a fun. He did a great job planning the date!
I was in charge of making dinner. We made it a special occasion. We had a three course meal topped off with sparkling cider.
Around Valentine's Day my ward a had a square dancing activity. Trent works pretty much every Saturday so when I found out my ward was having the activity on a Saturday I decided to invite my dad along. It was nice to have a partner to dance with. Thanks for coming Dad! It was a lot of fun. We took some pictures by John Wayne. My dad is a huge fan!
