Family Vacation 2014 - St. Goerge

During Trent's three week break from school this summer we decided to visit Grandma Parkinson in St. George for a few days. It was so great to visit with Grandma and overall, just take a break from responsibilities and be together as a family.

Our car always feels filthy. I decided to vacuum it out in my mom and dad's garage the day before we headed out. To avoid having Tanner run in the road I let him play in the car. He loved it and now I have a hard time with him trying to always sit in the front seat whenever the car isn't moving and he is out of his car seat. Wow! Who would have thought he would acquire such a love so quickly for something that is really not safe for him to do. I guess all boys just want to play with toys...whether they are small or big.

One the way there Grandma had suggested we stop at Cove Fort on the way there. It was a lot of fun to hear the stories and see this amazing Fort.

Trent of course wanted to see where the guns go through near the front door...if you are an unwelcome guest.

Tanner wanted to see them too!

I'm so glad I don't have this type of a stove and that I am not cooking for that many guests.

The gentleman giving the tour happened to have a connection to the Dominican Republic. He owns a home there. It brought back some mission memories as we talked. Good times.

While in St. George were able to visit Brigham Young's Winter home. It was cool to learn about the silk worms and other things.

Tanner thought the bunnies in Grandmas yard were awesome. When we could get him to look over fast enough to see the bunny as it hurried across the yard.

One the way to Zion's Tanner is finally old enough to understand that he should keep his hat on.

We went on an easy hike. I love hiking!

Tanner fell asleep by the end of the hike, so cute. I love my boys!

Bus ride anyone? Tanner thought it was pretty neat.

Hanging out at Grandma's. Enjoying the bubbles.

Grandma was so sweet and watched Tanner on a few occasions so Trent and I could sneak off and enjoy a date. There is nothing better then ice-cream and a late night walk around the temple to talk. I'm so grateful we are sealed as an eternal family!

Grandma and Tanner. We were so lucky to send time with you Grandma. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality we love you!
