Christmas 2015

We had a great Christmas this year. So grateful for family and the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives. I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who sent his Son to earth to be our Savior.

We started out Christmas Eve right with a game of bowling! Thanks mom and dad Parkinson. It was fun to go bowing as a family. The kids loved it...me too!

I was hoping to break 100...haha. I am not too great at bowling. It usually takes me a whole game to get warmed up. I guess it would help if you play more than once every 2 years. Trina passed me up and won with a score of 100.

Then we enjoyed looking at the Candy windows down in South Jordan. Good times!

We enjoyed a the fun Christmas Eve tradition of opening a new pair of pajamas. Thank you for the gift Mom and Dad Adams. Tanner loved his pj's!

All of the kids by the tree in their new jammies!

We had Tanner come into our room before the tree stuff. We acted out the nativity again with our Fisher Price set. Then we talked about Jesus and what gift we wanted to give him this year. It was a sweet moment to have some special time together as a family before we opened presents. We even had a tickle fight, which I think Tanner loved. Then it was time to line up with the cousins for a picture before the Santa fun began.

We did stocking for Jordan and Zion this year. Their was a movie and a bag of candy in their stocking for all of us to share as a family.

Tanner got some fun Lego's from Santa. The minute he opened them he started building with them :) I think he was very happy with his gifts from Santa. The picture is blurry, but look at that happy smile.

He also recieved some fun games. This boy is totally into games. He got "Sequence for Kids" and "Gone Fishing."

With buying the house recently Trent and I agreed that we were going to keep Christmas small for each other. I was the one who pushed for that. We really don't need anything and money is so tight after you buy your first home. Truthfully though I did it to sort of trick Trent. He always gets me wonderful, meaningful gifts and I stink at giving him somethings that great, or even a surprise for that matter. I'm just not a good gift giver. This year though, I surprised him with a gas BBQ. He has been wanting one for over a year now and when I got one for more than 50% off I had to do it. Thankfully Trina and Corey Sharp were kind enough to let me hide it in their garage for about a month. Here is Trent opening the receipt and paper explaining that he was getting a BBQ. It was fun to finally surprise him and get him a nicer gift.

It was fun to finally surprise him!

Tanner also got a lot of books! We love books!

Trent of course made me a very meaningful gift, like always. We had talked about getting ornaments for Jordan and Zion this year, but when I started talking about the ones I was going to make for him and Tanner he told me not to make anything for the boys. So I didn't I figured he was going to make ornaments for them as a my gift this year. His ornaments were very, very sweet though... I cried, of course. There is meaning behind the material he chose, and they just turned out really sweet.

All in all a great Christmas!

We had our traditional Christmas breakfast as well. Thanks to the many hands that helped in the kitchen!

Tanner and I were even able to convince dad to go outside to go sledding in the crazy blizzard of falling snow. (Mom couldn't go sledding with Tanner...and someone needed to take him down the hill and help him back up again...haha). Trent was a good sport and mom went out in the cold to help support the fun and take pictures.

He had to think about it for awhile...lol.

Daddy tried it out first. Then Tanner joined the fun!

Dad was awesome enough to give Tanner a ride back to the house on the sled.

Once we got home from Grandma and Grandpa Parkinson's house it was time to shovel the walks.
