Zion's "UnBirthday" - June 28, 2015

We did a few things over a few days to remember Zion around his due date. Doing an "UnBirthday" celebration helped us work through a tough time of grieving. We love and miss you!

A few days before Zion's due date we were in the Salt Lake area we stopped off in Lehi to visit Zion's grave to give him a gift. It was such a tender mercy to find this little teddy bear. Since Zion's name means "The pure in heart." we tried desperately to find a bear with a heart on it to bury him with back in February. We searched all day and checked multiple stores...but no luck.

In the end we were meant to find the sweet turtle that has a baby on the mother's back and has a music box inside that plays "You Are My Sunshine." He was buried with the turtle, and I sort of forgot about our hope to have found him a teddy bear with a heart on it. However, when we were looking for a stuffed animal to give Zion on his due date...and when... at the first store we went to...we found this, my heart was really touched. Here was our simple teddy bear, with a heart. It was a great reminder to me that Heavenly Father is involved in the details of our lives and he has not forgotten us amdist the sadness of our heartache.

Tanner wanted to snuggle the bear before he gave him to Zion. He fell asleep holding him in the car on the way to the cemetery.

Here is the sweet statue that was recently put in the baby cemetery in Lehi, near the boy's graves.

Then on the 28th we actually had a cake and sent off balloons back home in price for a little birthday celebration. It helped us think of Zion and be happy that day instead of only focusing on the sadness. I did lots of things this myself this day, such as writing him, reading over his story, etc. It was nice to do this stuff together as a family though. Trent drew the turtle :)

It was very sweet. Jasmine Sharp my niece found out I was going to do a balloon sendoff and asked if I could write a message to Zion from her. Mom Parkinson also requested a little note and after Allen Sharp found out Jasmine was sending a note he wanted to as well. Here are the messages they asked me to send. It was sweet of them to sort of be included in our special day.

A few from me.
